Shabbat Shalom friends!

 

This Shabbat join us as we welcome Dana Berman, our community Shelicha, as she leads us in a Shabbat lunch & learn program on Diversity in Israel. NO TORAH STUDY this coming Saturday. Come for services at 11, lunch program at noon. Dairy lunch provided. No RSVP needed, no cost; donations appreciated.

 

Here are some upcoming study and worship opportunities between now and the end of Sukkot:

  • Wednesday, October 12thHere for one Yom Kippur morning service but not the other, but don’t want to go home? we welcome our Twin Poets Laurate, Nnamdi Chukwuocha and Al Mills, who will lead us through an exploration of poetry and justice in our community. Two starting times, at 10:30am and 1pm. Hope you will come and see them in action.
  • Sunday, October 9th: The memorial service at Beth Emeth Memorial Park will take place at 3pm on 10/9. Email Ethel Parsons at ethelzee@aol.com for more information.
  • Sunday, October 16th: Join us at 6pm for a Sukkot Service and potluck study dinner with Ivan Thomas and Shoshana Kohn from DeTV and #wearelove, exploring how we can bring together and heal divisions across racial, ethnic and gender lines.   • Join us Saturday, October 22th at 3pm for Zochreinu: A Program Of Memory. On the Shabbat of Sukkot we will gather, break bread together, study texts and traditions of memory, mourning, and healing, and offer prayers of remembrance. This is in the place of a traditional Yizkor service. Light dairy meal provided.
