Congregation Beth Emeth is a vibrant and exciting Jewish community where people come together to be moved by Jewish values and experience and, in turn, to move the world to something better. In order to best appreciate the power of the Congregation Beth Emeth community, its members must have Jewish knowledge, skills and orientation to the world. We, at Congregation Beth Emeth, are committed to cultivating in our students an appreciation of themselves as Jews and as individuals. We want our students to know and understand their tradition and values, applying them critically and thoughtfully to their daily lives. Our educational programs are designed to develop the knowledge, skills and orientation to help our members participate fully in Jewish life.
Our goal is to create Jewish adults; the Religious School is where that process begins.

Volunteering in Religious School
We often have special programs that we need assistance with. Most of them on Sunday morning and ALL of them FUN! In order to volunteer in the Religious School, the Board of Trustees has determined that we are required to run a background check at our expense. You simply need to print, complete and return the form below. We need 5 days lead time to get it complete so that you can assist with a project. The background check is good for 3 years. So if you are considering volunteering in the Religious School, take a moment and return the form so you are ready to go when the right opportunity comes along.
Service Attendance Requirements
At Congregation Beth Emeth, we value Shabbat and we know how important attending shabbat services is to a child’s learning and a family’s Jewish development. As part of our religious school program we require that all students attend Shabbat services (either Friday or Saturday) a number of times during the school year as appropriate for their grade. You will find that below. Children may indicate how many services they have been too by placing a sticker in the book in front of the sanctuary or by emailing Lisa Schrier at lschrier@bethemethde.org. We also encourage you and your children to come beyond that number. Anyone who attends 10 or more receives the Rabbi’s roll award at the end of the school year.
For students anticipating their bar/bat mitzvah we strongly encourage you to attend 10 or more Saturday morning services, to support your classmates and to help prepare for the day that you are on the bimah. If there is no bar/bat mitzvah scheduled for that morning, students are encourage to connect with Rabbi Robinson about helping to lead the worship services as a way of preparing through active participation. Rabbi can be reached at rabbirobinson@bethemethde.org
Grades Kindergarten thru 4th need 4 services
Grade 5 needs 5 services
Grade 6 needs 6 services
Grade 7 needs 7 services
Religious School Student Aid
The Hebrew and Religious School of Congregation Beth Emeth is subsidized by the operating funds of the congregation. Student aid is available to assist those who are not able to pay the full tuition. It is the policy of Congregation Beth Emeth that all the children of member families receive Jewish education regardless of ability to pay. All information provided will be treated as confidential.
Full and partial grants will be awarded to those who apply, based on degree of need as ascertained by the Scholarship Committee, to the limit of funds available.
