This Shabbat join us as we explore parashat nitzavim, a little taste of the high holidays to come. Dr. Joel Chodos will chant Torah and give a d’var torah at services as well. To learn more you can go here.
We have numerous study opportunities between Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot!
- Join us on Tuesday, October 4th at 11am for our 2nd Day of Rosh Hashanah Lunch and Learn as we explore “Who Shall Live and Who Shall Die: Un’taneh Tokef Through The Lens of Refugee Stories”. We will study our high holiday liturgy and how it speaks to the current refugee crisis. No RSVP needed. Dairy Lunch provided. No cost; donations appreciated
- Saturday October 8th join us as we welcome Dana Berman, our community Shelicha, as she leads us in a Shabbat lunch & learn program on Diversity in Israel. NO TORAH STUDY that day. Come for services at 11, lunch program at noon. Dairy lunch provided. No RSVP needed, no cost; donations appreciated.
- Wednesday, October 12th: Here for one service but not the other, but don’t want to go home? we welcome our Twin Poets Laurate, Nnamdi Chukwuocha and Al Mills, who will lead us through an exploration of poetry and justice in our community
- Sunday, October 16th: Join us at 6pm for a Sukkot Service and potluck study dinner with Ivan Thomas and Shoshana Kohn from DeTV and #wearelove, exploring how we can bring together and heal divisions across racial, ethnic and gender lines. - Join us Saturday, October 22th at 3pm for Zochreinu: A Program Of Memory. On the Shabbat of Sukkot we will gather, break bread together, study texts and traditions of memory, mourning, and healing, and offer prayers of remembrance. This is in the place of a traditional Yizkor service. Light dairy meal provided. No RSVP needed.
